Perhaps the premiere festival for experimental film in Americ, Migrating Forms, starts this weekend at Anthology Film Archives in Manhattan. Migrating Forms evolved out of the now-defunt New York Underground Film Festival. It should be a great program this year.

and I'm really excited for the movie, Oxhide, a true independent film from China (where it's really hard to make an independent film) in which a family plays fictionalized versions of themselves, shown in two parts.
